Sgema has become one of the few communication companies in Wales to achieve B Corp Certification, demonstrating the company’s commitment to social and environmental sustainability and responsibility.
B Corporations are accredited by B Lab UK, meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. The accreditation aims to redefine success in business by rewarding regenerative and ethical practices that put people and planet at the heart of decision-making.
Commenting on the announcement Sgema’s senior consultant, Meilyr Ceredig, said:
“We’re proud of the work that Sgema has undertaken to achieve B Corp Certification. It reflects our commitment to continually improving how we work and how we understand our place in Wales and the wider world. This is not an endpoint but rather it continues to build on our view of how the private sector can be a force for good in a vibrant Wales – aligned with delivery against each of the Wellbeing of Future Generation Goals. Our focus now is on building on this foundation with like-minded partners, clients, and suppliers to strengthen the network of companies in Wales that share our values. Together, we can help create an ecosystem of support that raises our collective ambition as a nation and delivers lasting benefits for people, communities, and the environment.”
B Lab UK is part of the B Global Network – a non-profit movement working to transform the global economy so that it benefits everyone, not just a few. Its mission is to build systems that prioritise regeneration over extraction, and collaboration over individualism, helping to create a fairer, more sustainable future. B Corp Certification is a rigorous process requiring companies to make meaningful commitments to how they operate and conduct business. To qualify, companies must meet Foundation Requirements and also demonstrate action across a range of key impact areas. For further information visit the B Corp website.
